Lango College Inspires UACE Students with Career Guidance and Academic Excellence

Last week, Lango College hosted a motivational session with UACE (Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education) students, aiming to inspire them and provide valuable career guidance in selecting subject combinations and professional paths. The event was part of the school's ongoing efforts to prepare students for their future academic and career pursuits.

Addressing the journalists, Mr. Sam Bob Okino, the school's headteacher, emphasized that Lango College conducts career guidance sessions termly, which serve to motivate students and foster discipline. "Our goal is to equip students with the necessary insights to make informed decisions about their futures," he said. 

Mr. Okino also highlighted that the school is currently regaining its esteemed reputation, "We are working tirelessly to restore Lango College's glory, not only academically but also in extracurricular activities."

Beyond academic achievements, Lango College has made significant strides in sports, earning various trophies and accolades in regional and national competitions. These successes reflect the school's commitment to holistic development and nurturing talented athletes.

Furthermore, Mr. Okino appreciated the support from the Old Students Association, which has played a vital role in the school's growth and development. "Their contributions, both financial and moral," 

During the session, the school's Career Master, Mr. Sam Ocen, advised students to consider several critical factors when choosing their subject combinations and career paths. He emphasized the importance of aligning choices with students' interests, strengths, job market demands, and future opportunities.

In addition, the school plans to introduce more interactive career workshops, mentorship programs, and partnerships with local industries to further support students in making informed decisions and gaining practical exposure.
