Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng's Contributions to Lira City and Lango Community Garner Support Amid Political Debate

Lira, Uganda: As political debate continues in the Lango sub-region about the fate of two prominent women running for a political seat, an elder in the SDA church, Jube Adyer, has expressed concerns that any noise-making in Lira City could not frustrate the political future of Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng due to her contributions to Lira City and the entire Lango community.

While addressing a group of journalists in Lira, Jube Adyer, an elder in the SDA church, stated that the political future of Dr. Aceng remains clear and she stands a chance to retain her seat in the 2026 election. He advised Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng not to be discouraged from pursuing developmental issues for the people of Lira due to noise and unfounded propaganda by people.

He also thanked Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng for her support to the Christian community, which includes a donation of 50 bags of cement to the SDA church in Lira City. The 50 bags of cement will be used for the development of the church. While delivering the 50 bags of cement, Imat Emma Okite, an aide to Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, thanked the women of the SDA church for putting God first in everything they do. She said such organization in the church gives honor to God.

Last week, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng extended her support to the church and some community members, while her rival distributed hand hoes, which attracted criticism as people of the city need more substantial support.

Susan Adongo, a member of the SDA church in Lira City, said Dr. Jane Aceng's donation to the church demonstrates her love for the Christian community. She pledged to support Dr. Aceng now and beyond the 2026 general election.

Currently, Minister Aceng is engaged in lobbying development for her people. A week ago, she revealed plans for establishing a regional Heart Institute in Lango at Lira University.
