Alur King calls for Peace, Progress in His Powerful Christmas& New Year

By Mike Rwothomio

His Royal Majesty Philip Olarker Rauni III, King of the Alur Kingdom, has called on Ugandans to redouble their efforts in driving the country's development while maintaining peace as they celebrate Christmas and prepare for general elections in early 2026.

In his annual Christmas broadcast, the Alur monarch extended warm greetings to all Ugandans and the Alur people, congratulating them on their contributions to the "common good and development of our beautiful country" throughout the year.

"I encourage each of us to continue contributing to the development of our country and the betterment of each citizen," King Rauni III stated, emphasizing collective responsibility in building a prosperous Uganda.

With national polls scheduled for January 15, 2026, the King appealed for calm and unity during the electoral period.

"As we go for polls early next year, I call on all Ugandans to remain peaceful and be each other’s keeper," he said, describing Uganda as "our collective home" where every citizen has both a stake and a duty to construct rather than destroy.

The monarch invoked the spirit of Christmas to promote healing and reconciliation, praying that its "light and hope" bring "enduring peace to our motherland."

He urged citizens to use the festive season for reflection, contentment, and fostering compassion, while seeking "common ground for the greater good."

King Rauni III's message aligns with the Alur Kingdom's longstanding focus on socio-economic progress, cultural preservation, and community development under his leadership.

The kingdom, spanning parts of northwestern Uganda and extending into the Democratic Republic of Congo, has prioritized initiatives in education, environmental protection, and household livelihoods.

Concluding on an optimistic note, the King wished all a Christmas filled with "love, happiness, peace, and God’s blessings," adding hopes for "a brighter and prosperous New Year."

The broadcast comes amid heightened national anticipation for the 2026 elections, where issues of development, unity, and peaceful political transition remain central to public discourse.
