Akalo School of Nursing and Midwifery Dedicates Students to God Ahead of UHPAB Exams,2026

Kole, Uganda: As students across Uganda prepare to sit for the upcoming Uganda Health Professions Assessment Board (UHPAB) exams on Monday, Akalo School of Nursing and Midwifery in Kole District has taken a heartfelt and spiritual step—dedicating all its candidates to God for wisdom, success, and peace of mind.

In a solemn and meaningful ceremony held at the school grounds, administrators, tutors, students, and community members gathered for prayers and blessings, seeking divine intervention and guidance as the national assessments draw near. This act of dedication underscores the school's holistic approach to education—emphasizing both academic excellence and spiritual wellness.

From Humble Beginnings to Steady Growth 

Founded in January 2022 with just 12 students, Akalo School of Nursing and Midwifery has rapidly grown into a reputable institution within the region. Despite its youth, the school has maintained impressive academic results, a testament to its dedicated staff and disciplined environment.

Today, the institution boasts a total enrollment of 214 nurses and midwives, all preparing to undertake the critical UHPAB exams. The students are organized into smaller, manageable sets, allowing for focused training and mentorship. 

"We believe in preparing our students both academically and spiritually," said a school representative. "Dedicating them to God is our way of acknowledging that beyond all our efforts, we need divine guidance to succeed and serve with integrity." Said CEO 

The UHPAB exams are a pivotal milestone for nursing and midwifery trainees across Uganda, as they determine eligibility to practice as fully qualified health professionals. Successful candidates will play a vital role in strengthening Uganda’s healthcare system, especially in underserved regions like Kole District.

Akalo School’s rapid growth and consistent performance have generated hope for improved healthcare staffing in the region, which faces challenges such as limited medical personnel and resources. The institution aims to continue producing competent and compassionate health workers equipped to meet the country's evolving health needs.

As the exam day approaches, the spirit of prayer and dedication at Akalo underscores a broader cultural value—trust in divine guidance alongside academic preparation. The school’s leadership hopes that this spiritual act inspires not only success for their students but also instills a sense of purpose and community service.

Currently, Akalo School of Nursing and Midwifery, Kole is also admitting students for july intake in Certificate in Nursing, Certificate in Midwifery.
