Lira, Uganda — Hon. Denis Hamson Obua, the Government Chief Whip and NRM National Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda, has officially unveiled the campaign roadmap for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s 2026 re-election bid in the Lango sub-region. The event marks a strategic move by the ruling party to mobilize support and demonstrate the region’s enthusiasm for the incumbent President.

Addressing the media at Tasha Hotel in Lira, over the weekend, GCW Obua expressed gratitude to the Lango community for their overwhelming support and love for President Museveni and the NRM party. He emphasized the importance of unity and active participation in the upcoming campaigns.

Official Campaign Roadmap for Museveni’s Visit in Lango

October 1, 2025: President Museveni will arrive in Amolatar District, where he is expected to hold his first rally in the lakeside district. On the same day, he will proceed to address a second rally in Dokolo District.

- October 2, 2025: The President will campaign in Alebtong and Otuke districts, continuing his outreach across the region.

- Subsequent Days: Over the following days, Museveni is scheduled to visit all remaining districts and major towns within the Lango sub-region, including Apac, Lira, and Kole, to mobilize support and energize local leaders.

The campaign activities are coordinated by a team from the Office of the National Chair, led by Hon. Denis Obua. The meetings aim to rally the community, boost morale among party supporters, and reinforce the message of continuity and development under Museveni’s leadership.

The decision to launch this high-profile campaign in Lango underscores the strategic importance of Northern Uganda in the 2026 elections. Historically, the region has been a crucial voting bloc, and its support is seen as vital for securing a landslide victory for Museveni. The rallying call from Obua was clear: encourage all NRM supporters and the wider community to turn out in large numbers and vote for the President to ensure a decisive win.

Obua also highlighted ongoing development projects in the region, including infrastructure improvements, health services, and education programs initiated under Museveni’s government, which he says have significantly transformed Lango and surrounding areas.
