NEBBI -Gone To Be With The Lord, Oldest Catholic Priest Father Emilio Onegwa(RIP)

LIRA,  UGANDA! Father Emilio Onegwa, the oldest priest in the Nebbi Catholic Diocese, has sadly passed away at the age of 99. 

He left us on Thursday afternoon, just a few weeks shy of his 100th birthday, which was set for December 8. He will be remembered for many things, especially his key role in building the Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral in Nebbi, which started back in the late 1980s. 

Church officials highlight that during his time as parish priest, Father Onegwa's vision for church growth came to life, leading to the church being elevated to cathedral status when the Nebbi Diocese was established in 1996.
