Lango Media community Receives 100M Ugx From Museveni

Otuke, Uganda: The Luo Natives | On the third day of his tour in the Lango sub-region to evaluate the progress of the PDM initiative in the community, President Museveni supported Lango Journalists SACCO, which operates under Lango Media Network-Africa with 100M Ugx to enhance their economic conditions.
While hosting local journalists from Lango at the Baralegi presidential lodge in Otuke District, he said assured the journalists that he will give them the money.
The president emphasized that this support would aid in combating poverty within the media community in the region. In addition to the financial assistance, he also pleged to provide a mini bus to facilitate transportation.
Following his meeting with the journalists, President Museveni proceeded to the Lango zonal skilling hub at Lira University and Alanyi Primary School in Ajuri, where he addressed a crowd and welcomed over 50 supporters from the NUP and DP parties to the ruling yellow party. He encouraged journalists to spread the message of wealth creation throughout the community.
Rolex Partick Akena Ogwal, the chair of Lango SACCO, expressed gratitude to the president for his support of local journalists. He also urged the president to consider providing job opportunities for academically qualified journalists, whether through appointments or public service roles.
Akena appealed to President to scholarship and bursaries to young Journalists in Lango.
More than 40 journalists across the entire Lango sub-region gathered to engage with the president regarding the PDM initiative. This week, H.E. President Museveni, accompanied by First Lady Mama Janet Museveni, has been in Lango to assess the performance and impact of the PDM program. Thus far, he has expressed satisfaction with the progress of various community projects.
