Lira, Uganda: Hill City College Lira , widely recognized as one of the premier UCE (Uganda Certificate of Education) schools in Lango sub-region, has announced an extension of its admission deadline. This decision aims to provide more parents and aspiring students with the opportunity to access the college's esteemed educational services as the new academic year commences.
Addressing this publication at the school premises on Friday, just as normal classes began, the School Director, Emmanuel Akeny, highlighted the college's commitment to inclusivity. "While our academic programs are already underway, we have decided to open our doors further to welcome more PLE (Primary Leaving Examination) candidates and UCE students who are still seeking admission," Akeny stated. "We want to ensure that every deserving student has the chance to benefit from the quality education we offer."
The college's dedication to academic excellence was demonstrably proven in 2025, where Hill City College achieved exceptional results. A significant number of candidates secured outstanding grades, particularly in science subjects. This success aligns directly with the government's policy of nurturing more scientists within the nation, underscoring the college's role in national development.
Official rankings further solidify Hill City College's position as a leader. The institution outperformed numerous schools across the Lango sub-region and the entire country in terms of academic performance. Nationally, it has been recognized among the top 300 UCE schools, and within Lira City, it consistently ranks among the best five schools for performance.
Looking ahead to the current academic year, Director Akeny outlined the college's ambitious goals. "Our unwavering commitment is to achieve the highest levels of performance," he declared. "Beyond academics, we aim to provide our students with a well-rounded education that equips them with the skills and values necessary for success in all facets of life."
