Trust in Jesus Like Bartimaeus: Ev. Joe Well Tells Lira Christians to Cry Out in Faith for Healing

LIRA CITY, UGANDA — An international evangelist, Joe Well,  of Lift  Evangelistic Ministries  has urged residents of Lira City and surrounding areas to put their faith in Jesus Christ, saying believers should not lose hope even when faced with seemingly impossible situations.

Well made the call on the opening day of a four-day mega crusade in Lira City, Northern Uganda, where he preached about the power of faith, prayer and seeking Jesus in times of desperation.

In his opening message, the evangelist encouraged Christians to turn to Jesus with confidence, saying that faith can give people hope and strength to confront difficult circumstances.

“When you believe in Jesus, everything is possible. Cry to Jesus for help and do not give up,” Pastor Well told the gathering.

He urged people seeking healing, deliverance and spiritual restoration to approach Jesus in faith rather than allowing their circumstances to convince them that their situation is hopeless.

The lesson of blind Bartimaeus

Pastor Well drew his message from the biblical account of Bartimaeus, the desperate blind man from Jericho whose story is recorded in Mark 10:46–52.

According to the Gospel account, Bartimaeus heard that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. Despite being surrounded by people, he began crying out to Jesus for mercy.

When some people tried to silence him, Bartimaeus shouted even louder, asking Jesus to have mercy on him.

Jesus stopped and called him.

The evangelist used the story to encourage people at the crusade not to allow discouragement, criticism or difficult circumstances to stop them from seeking God.

He said Bartimaeus had heard about Jesus and took the opportunity to call upon Him when He came near.

Many of you are suffering today either unknowingly or knowingly, Please cry to Jesus He will heal you now.

He hallenged the congregation to develop the same determination in their Christian lives, particularly when seeking divine intervention.

The preacher said the crusade was not only about gathering large crowds but also about giving people an opportunity to hear the Christian message and renew their faith.

He encouraged those facing personal struggles, sickness, financial difficulties and other challenges to remain hopeful and continue seeking God through prayer.

The four-day crusade is expected to bring together Christians and other residents from Lira City and neighbouring communities for preaching, prayer and worship.

As the crusade continues, Pastor Well is expected to deliver more messages centred on faith in Jesus Christ, salvation, prayer and the Christian life.

For many attending the opening service, the message of Bartimaeus carried a simple lesson: **when hope appears lost, do not stop calling on Jesus. 

Pastor Jhonson Ogema, the over seer Victory Outreach Ministeries - Lira Uganda thanked Ev. Joe Well for the great message of God he delivered to people in his preaching.

He urged people of Lango to come in big number and receive messages of deliverance in their lives.
