OYAM, UGANDA : The Luo Native: The outspoken former Oyam North parliamentary aspirant under NRM, Queen Dorothy Amolo, has made a statement following the arrest of her ex-personal political assistant, Oscar Ojok.

In a recent media statement, Amolo claimed that on February 25, a group of unknown people in military uniforms burst into Ojok’s home in Kamdini Town Council and took him away under mysterious circumstances. She promised to follow this issue through to the end, stressing her determination to find out what really happened.

Amolo also shared her concerns that her political activities over the last five years have made her and her team targets for intimidation in Oyam by her rivals.

Queen Dorothy Amolo, a strong carder, is seen as a strong contender in Oyam District, with many locals viewing her as a potential leader for either the Oyam North or South parliamentary seat. Her strong ties and active participation in the community have made her a significant challenge for her political opponents.

An Attempt to speak to the police at the time of filing this article was unsuccessful to verify the claims.

Statement on the possible Disappearance of Ojok Oscar

Dear Members,

I wish to address the concerning disappearance of Ojok Oscar, my personal assistant and brother. On February 25, 2025, Oscar was taken from his residence by men dressed in military uniforms. He was handcuffed and transported toward Kampala.

I refrained from making an immediate statement as I have been actively seeking to understand the circumstances surrounding his arrest. My primary concern is to determine whether he was taken in connection with a legitimate legal matter or if this is politically motivated—given my strong political stance over the past decade, especially in the last five years.

Since my involvement in the politics of Oyam, I have faced repeated threats to my life and those closest to me. At this moment, I am doing everything possible to uncover the truth before making a formal statement regarding the nature of his arrest or possible abduction. While I cannot yet conclude that he was abducted, I do know that he was placed in handcuffs and willingly entered the vehicle.

Additionally, I cannot state for certain that Oscar was abducted because his brother, Jerome Ongom, informed those close to him—and also confirmed to me—that Oscar called him and requested the removal of a Facebook post alleging he had been abducted. Furthermore, Oscar’s friend and cousin, Daniel, who was present at the time of his arrest, also stated that Oscar asked him not to inform anyone about what had happened. Given these circumstances, it remains difficult at this moment to determine whether Oscar was arrested due to a personal legal matter and needs space to handle it, or if he was indeed abducted, as has been alleged.

I urge the relevant authorities to provide clear information on Oscar’s whereabouts and the reasons for his detention. I also call on all concerned parties to ensure his safety and uphold his fundamental rights.

I appreciate your patience and support during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Queen Dorothy Amolo
