KIGEZI PRESIDENTIAL ZONAL TOUR: Excitement As M7 Steps  Foot Today

Lira, Uganda; The Luo Natives | The people of sub-region, western are fully ready to welcome H.E President Museveni in their area, as he continues his Zonal Tour to monitor the progress of PDM program. 

On Tuesday, members of the National Organizing Committee (NOC) including the Government Chief Whip, Denis Hamson Obua; State Minister of Investment, Evelyn Anite and State House Comptroller, Jane Barekye briefed leaders from the Kigezi region on the upcoming Presidential Zonal Tour scheduled for February 12th to 15th, 2025.

The briefing aimed at informing and preparing the Kigezi leadership for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s visit, which is part of a series of regional tours assessing the implementation of key government wealth creation programs. Essentially, it includes visitation to the successful model farmers by the President, meeting with the particular sub-region leaders and a public rally to address the wider populace. 

The Presidential Zonal Tour National Organizing Committee is chaired by the Vice President, H.E. Jessica Alupo, who is also already in the sub-region. Other members include the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja; NRM Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong; Government Chief Whip, Hon. Denis Hamson Obua; State Minister of Investment, Hon. Evelyn Anite; State House Comptroller, Jane Barekye and Commissioner for the National Secretariat of Patriotism, Hellen Seku. 

Also at the forefront are Kigezi sub-region leaders, including the Minister of Information and National Guidance, Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi; State Minister of Industry, Hon. David Bahati and State Minister of Finance, Hon. Henry Musasizi.
