Dokolo Uganda – May 23, 2025

In a decisive victory, Arao Rebecca was declared the new NRM Vice Chairperson for Dokolo District after securing an overwhelming 377 votes in a closely watched election. Competing against three other candidates—Hon. Ojok Benson (28 votes), Odongo Peter Owat (85 votes), and Opio Patrick George (6 votes)—Arao Rebecca win underscored her strong grassroots support and the trust placed in her leadership by the people of Dokolo.

After the election, voters flagged off Arao Rebecca for the next primary election as she prepared for woman member of parliament Dokolo Dokolo District 2026-2031, This is a clear sign of victory. " We pray for your way to parliament and we shall not stop voting because we believe you can present our voice in parliament."- Dorcus Akello said.

Addressing supporters after her declaration, Arao Rebecca extended gratitude to the NRM National Chairman H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the voters of Dokolo for their confidence in her. “This victory is not mine alone; it belongs to every resident who believes in our shared vision for progress,” she said.

In a spirit of reconciliation, Rebecca calls upon her opponents to collaborate for the district’s development. “Elections are about choices, but governance is about unity. I invite my fellow candidates to join hands with me to mobilize resources and votes for the greater good of Dokolo,” she emphasized.

Analysts attribute Rebecca’s success to her mobilization skills and alignment with NRM’s grassroots strategy. Her call for post-election cooperation reflects the party’s broader emphasis on inclusive leadership—a message likely to resonate as Dokolo prepares for future political engagements.

As celebrations erupted across the district, supporters hailed Rebecca win as a new chapter for NRM’s influence in Dokolo, with hopes pinned on her ability to bridge divides and deliver tangible results.
