All Those Ugandans Calling For Peaceful Transfer Of Power Shall Witness It Soon As Power Will Move Smoothly From Museveni To Gen Muhoozi; Haruna Kasolo

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (Regional Cooperation) Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo has said Ugandans calling for a peaceful transfer of power will witness what he described as a smooth transition in 2031.

Kasolo made the remarks at a thanksgiving ceremony in Kasaali Town Council, Kyotera District, where he spoke about Uganda’s political future and the need for continuity.

According to Kasolo, the transition in 2031 would not disrupt government operations, saying government business would continue without interruption.

He linked the expected transition to Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who has publicly been associated with a bid for the presidency in 2031.

Kasolo said the assurance was particularly important for Ugandans who have been calling for a peaceful change in leadership and want the country to remain stable during any transition.

His remarks come amid public discussions about what will happen after President Yoweri Museveni’s current period in office and who will lead the country beyond 2031.

The minister’s comments have therefore added to the debate surrounding Uganda’s political succession, particularly the possibility of Gen Muhoozi taking over from his father.

Kasolo maintained that the anticipated transition would be smooth and that the country’s government operations would continue without disruption as Uganda moves into its next political chapter.
