Gen Muhoozi Confirms Having Kizza Besigye’s Right Hand Man Sam Mugumya But Promises To Execute Him Soon

Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has claimed that he has Sam Mugumya, a close associate of opposition politician Dr Kizza Besigye.

Muhoozi made the statement in a brief message in which he appeared to confirm that Mugumya is currently in his custody.

“Yes, I have Sam Mugumya. He is fine,” Muhoozi said in the statement.

However, the General went on to make a serious claim about Mugumya’s fate, saying that he would execute him soon.

The statement has raised questions about Mugumya’s situation and what could happen to him following Muhoozi’s remarks.

Mugumya has previously been associated with Besigye and has been described as one of his close allies.

Muhoozi’s comments are likely to attract significant public attention, particularly because they concern the alleged detention and threatened execution of an opposition figure’s close associate.
