Minister Engola Delivers New Vehicle to Another Clergy Of St Paul C.O.U Bar Headquarters Church, Citing Faith and Service 

Erute South MP and Minister of Disaster Preparedness says his support to the church is an expression of gratitude to God

LIRA, UGANDA —Erute South Member of Parliament and Minister for Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Hon. Sam Engola, has donated a brand-new vehicle to Reverend of St. Paul Church of Uganda, Bar Headquarters fulfilling what was described as one of his 2026 campaign commitments to support the church.

Engola, who was accompanied by his wife, Mama Betty Engola, handed over the vehicle to the church during a constituency tour, with the keys presented to Rev. Lawrence Oyom.

The vehicle is expected to ease the reverend’s movement and strengthen the church’s outreach and ministry activities across the community.

Speaking during the handover, Engola said his continued support to the church is driven by appreciation for what he described as God’s grace and blessings in his life.

The donation has been welcomed by church leaders and members, who described it as an important contribution towards strengthening pastoral work and community outreach.

Engola’s support to religious institutions has also become part of his broader public profile in Erute South, where he has continued to combine political representation with support for community initiatives.

Beyond the vehicle donation, the legislator is also associated with efforts to support development initiatives in the constituency, including church construction and lobbying for improved social services.

Residents have affectionately referred to Engola as “Baba”, a name that reflects his longstanding relationship with sections of the community and supporters.

The latest donation comes as Engola continues his engagement with constituents following his re-election as Erute South MP, with his supporters pointing to infrastructure, social services and community development as key areas of focus.

For the church, however, the vehicle represents more than just transport. It is expected to become a practical tool for pastoral visits, evangelism and other ministry activities.

Church leaders said the support would help improve the reverend’s ability to reach Christians and communities within and beyond the immediate parish.

The handover therefore marks another chapter in Engola’s relationship with the church and his wider constituency, where religious institutions remain important partners in community mobilisation, social support and spiritual development.
