A call to Emulate His Legacy 

Kampala, Uganda! The Ministry of Youth and Children Affairs of the Lango Cultural Foundation, under the leadership of Kenneth Ogwal, extends its deepest condolences to the people of Lango, the Royal Family, and the entire nation of Uganda on the passing of His Highness Yosam Odur Ebii, the revered Paramount Chief of Lango.

Minister Ogwal described the late Chief Yosam Odur as a visionary statesman and cultural icon, whose unwavering dedication to peace, unity, and the preservation of Lango heritage transformed lives and strengthened the bonds of community across the sub-region and beyond.

“We mourn the loss of a distinguished leader whose lifetime of service and humility inspired generations,” Minister Ogwal said. “His Highness Yosam Odur’s leadership was a beacon of peace, reconciliation, and progress—not only for Lango but for all of Uganda. On behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Children Affairs, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who were touched by his exemplary life.”

The Minister urged the youth of Lango and Uganda at large to emulate the late Chief’s legacy by promoting peace, unity, and social responsibility within their communities. He emphasized that the best way to honor His Highness’s memory is through continued efforts to build cohesive, forward-looking societies rooted in cultural pride and shared values.

As the Lango community comes together to mourn this monumental loss, Minister Ogwal reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the people of Lango during this period of grief and in upholding the late Chief’s enduring vision for a united and prosperous region. He urged the youths leadership across all clans to have a strong solidarity and work with perfect unity during this difficult time.

“May the soul of His Highness Yosam Odur Ebii rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire generations to come,” Minister Ogwal added.
