Lango Cultural Foundation Leaders Praise Museveni Over Akiibua Stadium Construction

Kampala, UG: Lango Cultural Foundation under able leadership of H.H Yosam Odur Ebii has hailed H.E President Y.K Museveni for sourcing funds to construct the Akiibua Olympic Memorial Stadium in Lira City.
The team expressed joy on Tuesday during the official site hand over the an Egyptian construction company that has signed contract with the government to build.
Represented by Fredrick Ogwal Oyee the Institutional Prime Minister, thanked President Museveni for continuous support and development in Lango.
Ogwal said this occasion indicates Museveni’s commitment in developing Lango sub-region citing, Lira Kamdini road, Apac-Lira-Kitgum road and the construction of Lango palace which has also started .
Prime Minister Ogwal was on Tuesday accompanied by notable Lango cultrural Leaders among the speaker of Lango cultural foundation, Dr. Lorry Lawernece Ocen, their attorney General Mike Abwang Otim and Janet Akello Minister for Trade among others.
At the event the government Chief Whip, Hon. Denis Hamson Obua handed over the land (site) for the construction of Akii-Bua Olympic Stadium on behalf of the First Lady & Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Museveni and Minister of State for Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang, to Ms Samco National Construction Company.
In a joint message of the First Lady/Minister of Education and Sports and Minister of State for Sports read by the Government Chief Whip, the two leaders saluted President Yoweri Museveni for championing the Akii Bua Olympic Stadium project.
Obua handed over land worth 18.455 hectares to the contractor with an appeal for promoting Uganda’s BUBU policy and local content.
The function was graced by the presence of Hon Dr Aceng-City Area Mp/Minister of Health, MPs, religious leaders, cultural leaders,Lira City/ District authorities, and area security chiefs among others.
The Stadium is expected to be delivered within 20 months and will cost USD$129,743,185
