Lira City, Uganda — The atmosphere at Sir Samuel Joe Nursery and Primary School was filled with excitement and hope as the school community gathered for a special dedication ceremonyn held in honor of its 30 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) candidates.
The event, themed b“Determined for Victory,” was designed to spiritually, morally, and mentally prepare the candidates for the national examinations scheduled for November.
In his address, the school’s founder and director, Mr. Joe Otim, emphasized that the dedication ceremony was not just a routine event, but a declaration of confidence in the candidates’ readiness.
“This is not just another test; this is your first major academic victory,” he said.
“For seven years, you have been armed with knowledge, discipline, and character. Today, we do not gather in anxiety, but in certainty. We are not here to wish you luck, but to dedicate you for the success that is your rightful destiny. You are not just candidates; you are champions in the making.”
The ceremony was rich in symbolism and inspiration. Each of the 30 candidates received success cards and words of encouragement from teachers, parents, and church leaders. The students were reminded to remain faithful to God and to carry the school’s values of **discipline, respect, and perseverance** into the exam room.
As the school choir led worship songs and hymns, the candidates stood proudly—faces glowing with determination and gratitude. It was a moment of unity, faith, and renewed purpose.
Church leaders present at the event blessed the candidates and shared words of God.
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”
They urged the pupils to approach their examinations with humility, prayer, and hard work, reminding them that true success comes from both faith and effort.
Teachers also took turns to offer motivational messages, commending the pupils for their resilience throughout their academic journey. Many noted that despite challenges such as the post-pandemic disruptions, the learners had remained focused and dedicated.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Otim extended heartfelt appreciation to the Lango community, parents, and staff for their support and love for the school.
“Our teachers have done a tremendous job over the past seven years preparing these candidates,” he said.
“They have completed the syllabus thoroughly and ensured that no child is left behind. We are confident that our pupils will bring back excellent results.”

He further called upon parents to maintain a supportive environment at home during the holiday period and warned against engaging children in harmful activities , such as alcohol sales or excessive labor.

“Let our children rest, revise, and prepare for the celebrations after the results,” Mr. Otim added.
