West Nile, Uganda ; The revered council overseeing the 15th coronation anniversary of His Majesty Ubimu Philliph Rauni Ularker III, the Alur King, has issued a heartfelt summons to all Alur people to unite in spirit and resources for the grand celebration set for October 31st at the Paidha Primary Teachers College Grounds in Paidha Town Council.

This year’s commemoration, under the guiding theme “Alur Culture for wealth Creation”, will be hosted by the Kal Omua Chiefdom in Paidha, with His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni expected to honor the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Dr. Amos Nyathirombu, the Kingdom’s esteemed Minister of Health and Chairperson of the Central Organizing Council, spoke to the press following a gathering at Daudi Courts on Sunday, October 12.

He shared that preparations are advancing with great purpose, urging all Alur both within Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and the diaspora, to contribute generously to ensure the event’s success.

“This is a sacred moment to honor our King and our heritage. Let us come together to set a powerful example of unity and devotion,” he declared.

Dr. Nyathirombu also extended an invitation to corporate entities, institutions, NGOs, and CBOs to open their hearts and support this milestone celebration.

The Alur Kingdom, spanning 56 chiefdoms in Uganda and 8 in the DRC, with a population of millions, has already begun pooling resources for the event.

The council expressed gratitude to the Alur community in Arua, as well as supportive leaders and politicians, for their pledges.

John Pascal Wapokra, the Kingdom’s Minister of Lands and Vice Chairperson of the Central Organizing Council, called for collective effort, urging all sub-council heads to intensify mobilization to ensure a triumphant celebration.

Meanwhile, Vincent Orach Ocaya, the Kingdom’s Executive Director, encouraged school leaders to inspire students to embrace Alur traditions through performances of traditional dances, dramas, poems, and folk songs, fostering a deep connection to their ancestral roots.

The theme, “Alur Culture for Wealth Creation”, celebrates the Kingdom’s rich cultural legacy and the abundant resources of its fertile lands, including Arabica coffee, matooke, and avocados.

These treasures, when nurtured by the Alur people, hold the promise of transforming lives and fostering wealth across the Kingdom.

Dr. Nyathirombu, guiding the council with wisdom, a week ago , oversaw the appointment of esteemed departmental heads to ensure the event’s success. He announced that President Museveni’s presence will elevate the occasion, and he called upon all Alur to rally behind the celebration. “The Kingdom has pledged resources, and several corporate allies have joined this noble cause. I urge our leaders, stakeholders, and local authorities to unite in honoring our King and our shared heritage,” he said.

Representatives from the Alur community in the DRC earlier, pledged their unwavering support.

David Ongom, Secretary of the Kal Omua Chiefdom last week, delivered a stirring address, welcoming the event to Paidha: “We, the people of Kal Omua, embrace this anniversary with open hearts. We believe it will bring blessings and abundance to our land, and we call upon all to join us in this sacred endeavor.”

John Pascal Wapokra praised the Kal Omua Chiefdom for their unity and hospitality, saying, “Kal Omua embodies the spirit of the Alur Kingdom. I urge the people of Paidha to embrace this celebration, honoring the deep ancestral ties that bind us.”

To ignite community spirit, the Kingdom has organized the “Kopu P’u Bimu” sports tournament and the MTN Ker-Alur Bicycle Run 2025 for men and women, fostering unity and excitement among the Alur people.

Dr. Nyathirombu called for intensified mobilization and amplified media outreach to ensure a grand turnout.
