Trending : PLU Embarks On Intensive Grassroots Mobilization Ahead of Historic Lango Sub-Region Launch in Lira City On Sunday

LIRA CITY, UGANDA — The countdown is officially on. The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Lango Sub-region organizing committee, spearheaded by Hon. Pius Olam, has entered the final stretch of intense mobilization ahead of the movement’s highly anticipated official launch in Lira City on October 4, 2026. 

The high-stakes event is hosted by the top leader of the PLU Lango Sub-region, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng woman mp Lira also Government Chief Whip .

 Adding massive political weight to the occasion, Hon. David Kabanda, a top national leader of PLU will preside over this historic gathering as the Chief Guest, The PLU Director of Mobilization is also confirmed to attend and actively participate. 

With only few days left, organizers are pulling out all the stops to streamline coordination and logistics. The milestone event, set to take place at the iconic Mayor’s Gardens, is expected to draw a massive crowd of PLU top brass, coordinators, fierce supporters, and residents from across the Lango sub-region. Central to the historic gathering is the formal endorsement of PLU Chairman, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba (MK), for the 2031 presidency. 

Addressing journalists at Lira Hotel on Monday, the organizing committee, led by Hon. Olam, expressed profound gratitude to the people of Lango for their unwavering support. He rallied the public to turn out in big numbers to receive a transformative message of development and secure the region's political future. 

"This event will officially mark the birth and institutionalization of PLU in the Lango sub-region," Hon. Olam declared, emphasizing the strategic importance of the launch. 

Flanked by key committee members—including Patrick Rolex Akena Ogwal (Vice Chairperson of the Workers League, Lira City) and Patricia Alany—the team confirmed that preparations are already 90 percent complete. They urged the people of Lango to unite behind the PLU banner and embrace the movement's vision. 

The upcoming Lango launch is part of a broader, aggressive nationwide strategy by the PLU to establish and solidify its grassroots structures across Uganda through massive registration drives and community engagement. 

Olam who is the also the NRM Chairperson Entrepreneur league Lira Ciry urged the business community, youth across different poltical line to also join the gathering.
