LIRA – Ahead of Uganda’s 64th Independence Day celebrations on October 9, 2026, the CEO of Angelika Secondary School in Barr, Lira District, Dr. Peter Oluge, has urged parents to invest heavily in education to attain true personal and national independence.

In his Independence Day message delivered today, Dr. Oluge emphasized that socio-economic transformation relies on a solid educational foundation. While acknowledging government efforts, he stressed that true academic success requires active parental collaboration, timely fees payment, and providing scholastic materials.

"True independence begins with an enlightened mind. As our nation reflects on its freedom, parents must realize that the greatest legacy they can bequeath to their children is a quality education," Dr. Oluge stated. "It is the only tool that can break the cycle of poverty, prevent early marriages, and secure a prosperous future."

The O and A-level mixed boarding powerhouse consistently ranks among the top schools in national examinations within Lira District. Dr. Oluge encouraged parents to utilize the school's standard learning facilities and professional staff, while wishing both O and A-level candidates great success in their upcoming national examinations.
