Gen Muhoozi Grows Impatient; One Week Is Too Long, Gen Otafiire Has 3 Days To Apologise Or Else He Won't Like It

Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has intensified his demands for an apology from Minister of Water and Environment Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Kahinda Otafiire, reducing the time given to the veteran politician to respond.

Muhoozi, who had earlier issued a one-week ultimatum, has now reportedly shortened the deadline to three days, expressing impatience over the ongoing disagreement.

The dispute follows remarks Otafiire allegedly made in Parliament and during a public lecture at Valley University of Science and Technology in Bushenyi, which the army chief interpreted as disrespectful.

In his earlier social media posts, Muhoozi accused Otafiire of making statements against him and demanded a public apology, warning of consequences if the minister failed to comply.

The CDF's latest position comes amid increasingly heated exchanges between the two senior figures, with Muhoozi also making remarks in which he described Otafiire as a nuisance and suggested that he should be sent to an old people's home.

Otafiire, a veteran of Uganda's bush war and a longtime government official, has reportedly responded defiantly, declaring that he would rather die fighting than live begging.

The confrontation has also drawn reactions from other political figures, including Kasambya County MP David Kabanda and Otafiire's son, Che Otafiire, who issued a brief warning in Russian after the threats against his father.

With Muhoozi insisting on an apology and Otafiire yet to be confirmed as having complied, the public disagreement continues to attract attention, particularly over the threats of arrest and the possibility of further exchanges between the two generals.
