President Yoweri Museveni has revealed details of a final letter written to him by the late Tooro King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV shortly before his death.
Museveni made the revelation on Tuesday during the coronation of Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I as the new Omukama of Tooro at Karuziika Palace.
The President said he discovered the letter the day after King Oyo’s burial while going through his documents. The letter, dated June 15, 2026, left him deeply emotional because it was written only weeks before the former king died.
Museveni said King Oyo used the letter to thank him for several things, including appointing ministers from Tooro. He noted that the letter showed the late king was still actively communicating at the time.
The President praised Oyo for his contribution to Tooro and urged the new king and other traditional leaders to protect indigenous cultures, languages, traditional knowledge and family values. Museveni also disclosed that.To read more, tap herel
