Daudi Kabanda The Insults You Placed On Gen Otafiire Is Totally Unacceptable, Uganda Is Waiting For Your Apology; Odongo Otto

Former Aruu County Member of Parliament Odonga Otto has criticised Daudi Kabanda over what he described as unacceptable insults directed at veteran politician and security minister Major General Kahinda Otafiire.

In a message shared on social media, Otto called on Kabanda to exercise restraint when speaking about senior political figures, particularly those he said had made sacrifices for Uganda. He argued that public discussions should be conducted with respect, even when individuals disagree.

“@DaudiKabanda the insults you placed on @otafiire_k is totally unacceptable,” Otto wrote, expressing his displeasure with Kabanda’s reported remarks about Otafiire.

Otto further said that people should be careful when addressing elders, especially those who participated in the struggle that brought the current government to power. He suggested that their historical contributions should be considered when engaging in political exchanges.

“We should exercise a degree of restraint especially when addressing elders moreso those who sacrificed their lives to bring Uganda this far,” Otto added in his message.

The former legislator went on to say that Ugandans were waiting for Kabanda to apologise to Otafiire. His statement placed the focus on accountability and the need to maintain civility in public exchanges between political figures.

The remarks have added to discussions about respect, political disagreements and the language used by leaders when criticising one another. Such exchanges often attract public attention because political figures have a wide audience and their words can influence wider debate.
