Rest In Peace! School Canteen Attendant Stones Student To Death During Confrontation

A school canteen attendant at Bright Way Secondary School in Kassanda District has been arrested following the death of a Senior Three student who was allegedly struck on the head by a stone during a confrontation.

The suspect has been identified as Resty Namutebi. According to the information provided, the incident happened on Monday, October 5, when Namutebi allegedly threw a stone during a disagreement involving another student.

Unfortunately, the stone reportedly missed its intended target and hit Ronald Ssemiyingo, a 20-year-old Senior Three student, causing serious injuries to his head.

Following the incident, Ssemiyingo was reportedly given first aid at the school as efforts were made to respond to his injuries. His condition, however, required further medical attention, prompting those around him to rush him to a nearby health facility.

The student was taken to Red Rose Hospital for further treatment. However, he was reportedly pronounced dead on arrival, leaving his family, fellow students and members of the school community mourning his sudden death.

Police have since arrested Namutebi as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue. Authorities are expected to establish what led to the confrontation and the events that resulted in the student sustaining fatal injuries.
