ROAD TO NRM CEC : People Don't Eat Promises, We Need Actions" – Calvin David Echodu Tells Lango Delegates

Lango, Uganda ; Calvin David Echodu, a prominent Ugandan politician and development advocate, delivered a powerful message to the Lango delegates during a recent gathering held at Tasha Hotel in Lira City. Echodu, who is vying to unseat Captain Micheal Mukula as the NRM Regional Vice Chair for Eastern Uganda, emphasized the importance of tangible action over empty promises.

Addressing the delegates, Echodu passionately stated, "People don't eat promises; they need action." He urged leaders and representatives to move beyond rhetoric and focus on implementing concrete projects that directly benefit the community. "Our people deserve development they can see and feel—not just promises that fade away," he added.

Echodu called on the NRM delegates in Lango to prioritize accountability and support leaders committed to development. He emphasized his own focus on strengthening the party from within, highlighting that his campaign is rooted in delivering results and empowering young delegates through capacity building and welfare initiatives. 

"I am not here to make hollow promises," Echodu declared. "For real change, we need to build our party and focus on actions that uplift our communities."

The speech resonated deeply with the delegates, many of whom expressed renewed confidence in Echodu’s vision for tangible development. The gathering saw a strong show of support as Echodu’s leadership qualities and commitment to action were widely recognized.

George Opio Rasid, Chairperson of the NRM Veteran League in Lira City West Division, thanked Echodu for his inspiring speech. He announced that as representatives of Lango, they are endorsing Echodu for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda. On that day, approximately 90 percent of the delegates stood up and officially endorsed Echodu’s bid.

Additionally, on the same date, Lango elders blessed Calvin Echodu in his ambition to join the NRM’s top leadership organs, further solidifying his support within the region.

Echodu, a fresh energy in NRM is currently enjoying support from NRM delegates across the country.
