Kakebe Technologies: Youth Tech Camp Set to Boost Acholi’s Digital Economy

A Historic Move for Youth Innovation, Digital Skills, and Economic Empowerment

In a landmark meeting convened and chaired by Sedrick Otolo, Team Lead Kakebe Technologies, key stakeholders from across Northern Uganda gathered to finalize plans for the Kitgum National Tech Camp 2026. This 10-day transformative event is set to take place in Kitgum District from 9th to 19th December 2026.

The meeting brought together a dynamic team of experts and leaders who share a common vision for the youth of Northern Uganda. Among them was Krina Styla, a Sweden based entrepreneur, content creator, and businesswoman whose creative genius and business acumen have inspired many young people across borders. Komakech Moses Santos, an EU YSB Member, Founder of Lumina Africa Foundation, and a passionate Digital Inclusion Advocate, brought his wealth of experience in community development and technology access. Ayo Geovia Sharon, a computer scientist, experienced content strategist, and humanitarian worker, added her deep understanding of both technology and human centered solutions. Odida Jackson, a legal strategist and community engagement specialist, brought his expertise in law and his passion for grassroots mobilization.

 And Sedrick Otolo, Program Lead at Kakebe Technologies, software engineer, and community engagement specialist, led the team with his vision of a digitally empowered Northern Uganda. 

With three representatives from Acholi and Lango sub regions in attendance, the team resolved to work collectively towards building and developing the youth of Northern Uganda. This is more than just a camp. It is a movement.

 It is a bold statement by the youth of Northern Uganda that they are ready to lead, to innovate, and to transform their communities through technology.

For too long, Northern Uganda has been left behind in the digital revolution. Young people with brilliant ideas have lacked access to mentorship, training, and platforms to bring their dreams to life.

The Kakebe Tech Camp 2026 is changing that narrative. It is placing Northern Uganda at the center of Uganda's digital transformation agenda.

The camp will bring together 300 young people aged 14 to 30 from across Uganda for an intensive 10-day residential experience.

 Participants will gain hands-on training in AI and Software Development, Content Creation and Production, Entrepreneurship, Video Gaming, and Robotics. These are not just skills for the future. They are skills for today.

 They are skills that will empower young people to find jobs, create businesses, and solve real problems in their communities.

But the impact does not start in December. Beginning 5th October 2026, Kakebe will launch a series of online mentorship sessions running every Monday. These sessions will connect young people with industry experts in entrepreneurship, digital marketing, IT, AI, and personal branding. Following the camp, the Digital Bridge Internship Program will provide 100 youths with practical experience in software development, business, and digital content creation. This is a year round ecosystem of impact, not just a one time event.
