The man suspected of attacking Ugandan music legend Moses Matovu has reportedly expressed remorse, saying he never intended to cause the veteran musician’s death.
Vicent Nsamba, also known as Arnold Ronald Ssetenda, reportedly made the remarks while detectives took him through a reconstruction of the events surrounding Matovu’s death.
According to reports, Nsamba told investigators that he simply punched Matovu and that the musician fell down. He reportedly maintained that he did not intend to kill him.
The incident reportedly happened early Thursday morning as Matovu, 77, was walking with his female friend, Rose Tumusiime, 26, after leaving her residence in Kibuli.
Police allege that Nsamba confronted the pair near Matovu’s parked vehicle after reportedly following them from the area around Tumusiime’s residence.
