Frank Gashumba Attacks Everything, He Abused The Katikkiro & The President Too, We Will Not Take This Nonsense Anymore – Pastor Kayanja Speaks

Pastor Robert Kayanja has criticised businessman and social commentator Frank Gashumba, accusing him of repeatedly attacking prominent leaders and institutions in Uganda. Kayanja said Gashumba’s comments had gone too far and warned that he would no longer remain silent over what he described as insults directed at different people.

Speaking during a Wednesday night service at Miracle Centre Cathedral in Rubaga, Kampala, Kayanja singled out Gashumba over his remarks about the Katikkiro of Buganda, the President of Uganda and the Catholic Church. He said the commentator had repeatedly made statements against influential figures and religious institutions.

“This man, Frank Gashumba, attacks everything. He attacked the Katikkiro of Buganda and he abused and insulted him. Before that he was abusing the president and we couldn't say anything. He has attacked the Catholics. He has lied about me… he attacks and abuses everyone. Enough is enough,” Kayanja said.

The pastor added that he believed the time had come for people to speak out against Gashumba’s comments. “We will not take this nonsense anymore,” he declared, drawing attention to the growing disagreement between the two men.

Kayanja’s remarks come amid an ongoing dispute that began after Gashumba challenged pastors who claim to perform miraculous healing to demonstrate their abilities under verifiable conditions. Gashumba initially offered Shs200 million and later increased the proposed reward to Shs500 million for a preacher who could heal a seriously ill patient at a hospital.

Gashumba has argued that his challenge is aimed at religious leaders he accuses of using Christianity to exploit vulnerable believers. He has repeatedly insisted that he has never denied the existence of God or the power of Jesus Christ, saying his criticism is directed at what he calls fake prophets, pastors and apostles.

Kayanja, however, has defended the miracles associated with his ministry, insisting that they are genuine and come from God. The pastor has also argued that Gashumba’s criticism goes beyond questioning alleged fraudulent practices and amounts to disrespect towards Christianity and sacred religious beliefs.

The dispute has since expanded into a wider public debate about miracle claims, church finances, religious accountability and how public figures criticise religious leaders. Kayanja’s latest comments underline the growing tension between the two sides, as Gashumba continues to defend his challenge and the pastor maintains that the commentator’s remarks have crossed the line.
