Avoid Unnecessary Movements- Minister Kiryowa Kiwanuka Advises Ugandans On How To Cut Fuel Consumption
Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs Kiryowa Kiwanuka has urged Ugandans to reduce unnecessary movements as part of efforts to cut fuel consumption and avoid unnecessary expenses.
Kiwanuka advised citizens and residents to carefully consider their journeys and avoid travelling when it is not necessary, saying this could help households save money on fuel.
The minister also called on people who own several vehicles to reduce their usage and avoid driving multiple cars when one vehicle can serve the same purpose.
He specifically gave an example of people who own three vehicles, advising them to consider using only one whenever possible instead of moving around in all three cars.
According to Kiwanuka, reducing unnecessary journeys and limiting the number of vehicles being used can contribute to lower fuel consumption at household level.
He said the approach could also help families reduce their daily expenditure at a time when fuel costs remain an important expense for many motorists.
The minister's advice comes amid wider calls for Ugandans to adopt more economical ways of using fuel and avoid journeys that can be postponed, combined or eliminated.
Kiwanuka encouraged citizens to be more conscious about their movements and vehicle use, saying simple changes in daily travel habits could help conserve fuel and reduce unnecessary spending.
