Rest In Peace! Gulu University Student Dies In Pain After Being Mysteriously Killed

Gulu University is mourning the death of John Bosco Ngire, a second-year student pursuing education studies, following a deadly attack by unknown assailants in the early hours of Saturday.

Ngire was reportedly attacked at around 4am near the university’s Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, where he was allegedly struck on the head with a stone. The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear.

His death has sparked concern within the university community, with management raising questions about the safety of students and the effectiveness of security arrangements around the institution.

University official Onono called on security leaders to take stronger measures to protect students, warning that continued insecurity threatens the wellbeing of the university community.

The university also expressed concern about the wider consequences of insecurity, noting that incidents of violence could affect not only students and staff but also economic activities in Gulu City.

Ngire’s killing has renewed fears over security at the institution, particularly because it comes months after another university staff member was reportedly murdered.

The incident has put pressure on security agencies to strengthen protection around the university and investigate the circumstances that led to the student’s death. The university management is also expected to hold an emergency meeting to discuss additional safety measures.

As the university community grieves Ngire’s death, questions remain about who was responsible for the attack and what steps will be taken to prevent similar incidents. His death has left students and staff concerned about their safety as they await further developments in the investigation.
