Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has given Minister of Internal Affairs Gen Kahinda Otafiire one week to apologise to him over statements he allegedly made against him in Parliament.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Gen Muhoozi expressed displeasure with the remarks attributed to Otafiire, whom he described as his junior military officer.

"I hear my junior MG. Otafiire made some statements in parliament against me. I'm giving him exactly 1 week to apologise to me or else he will see," Muhoozi posted.

The CDF's message has drawn attention because it involves two senior military figures who also hold influential positions in Uganda's political and government structures.

Gen Otafiire, who serves as Minister of Internal Affairs, has been involved in parliamentary discussions on matters concerning national security, internal affairs and government policy.

Muhoozi did not provide details of the specific statements he was referring to or explain what exactly he expects Otafiire to apologise for.

His one-week ultimatum, however, signals growing tensions between the two generals following the alleged remarks made during parliamentary proceedings.
