Youthful Steven Omara Anyeko resolute to terminate GWC Obua’s Tenure in Parliament

As the year 2026 comes closer for the citizens of Uganda to participate in the general elections, many qualified individuals have started warming up to take up seats that are currently occupied, positions of the powerful politicians are not excluded.
Apparently, in Ajuri County, Alebtong district, the position of MP Denis Hamson Obua is momentously threatened as a youthful NRM strong mobiliser, Steven Omara Anyeko expressed interest and determination to end his 15 year political fortune.
Since its creation, Denis Hamson Obua, the former state minister of education in charge sports and current Government Chief Whip at Parliament of Uganda, has been the only one elected and re-elect to representing the constituency at the parliament.
Despite being represented by a personality believed to be very strong and powerful, the electorates have been decrying of poor road networks, drop in education and health standards, and generally poor service delivery.
From a humble family in Abukamola parish in Omoro sub county, East of Ajuri County, a social worker, Omara Anyeko holds bachelor degrees in procument and logistics, Economics and Masters in International Relations and Diplomatic Studies.
Currently, Omara Anyeko is engaged in serious mobilization traversing several village in the sub counties within Ajuri constituency and he is receiving massive support with many people referring to him as a blessing to area, who will honestly represent the voice of the people to parliament.
Omara is still the only individual who has opened up expressing interest to contest against Obua in the National Resistance Movement party primary elections, a race which is predicted to be the toughest of all, considering Obua’s position at the NRM’s Whip.
Being very influential in the grassroots mobilization, Omara believes a ‘big win’ will come his way and that he will victoriously hold the NRM flag and beat any other candidates that will show up in the general elections.
“I have done exclusive consultations with NRM members in Ajuri and so far received much support, the reason I believe I am so far the best candidate who can transform Ajuri county,” Obua noted a recent interview with the journalist in Lira city.
Omara disclosed his plan to network with the different stakeholders to improve the education and health sectors as well as road infrastructural development.
Omara currently has initiated several projects for the community of Ajuri County as he moves forward with his consultation with NRM members and the public. In the education sector, he provided desks and books to some schools with resources he got through his networks of friends and well-wishers.
He also supported farmers with agricultural inputs like seedling and training to help them walk to financial freedom in their areas through farming.
