As Ugandans around the country commemorate the Martyrs' Day, Mr. Lameck Ongom has issued an important message to the Christian community. He urged believers to observe standard operational procedures while celebrating, especially in the context of ongoing efforts to curb the spread of the Ebola virus.

Mr. Ongom emphasized the need for responsible celebration, calling on Christians to prioritize safety and health standards. He also urged the faithful to reflect on the virtues of doing good unto others, especially during this period of national remembrance.

"In celebrating our martyrs, let us remember the values they stood for—faith, sacrifice, and service. At the same time, we must be vigilant and adhere to health guidelines to prevent the spread of Ebola," Ongom stated.

He further encouraged Christians to focus on acts of kindness and community support, fostering a spirit of unity and compassion in these challenging times.

The district authorities continue to call for caution and responsibility, ensuring that celebrations do not compromise public health efforts.
