TOP STORY! Napak NRM Chair Mark Longole Rallies Support for Museveni and NRM Candidates Ahead of 2026 Elections

Napak District, Uganda — In a spirited effort to rally support for the upcoming 2026 general elections, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chair for Napak District, Hon. Mark Longole, has led widespread rallies across the Karamoja sub-region. The mobilization emphasizes unwavering backing for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and NRM candidates nationwide.

As the Independent Electoral Commission continues with the nomination exercises for various candidates, Hon. Longole urged community members to remain loyal to the government and actively campaign for President Museveni’s re-election. He highlighted the party’s significant achievements over the past decades, calling for continued support to sustain Uganda’s development trajectory.

During the rallies, Hon. Longole underscored the importance of unity within the NRM and reaffirmed President Museveni’s leadership as crucial for maintaining stability and fostering progress in Uganda.

"President Museveni has overseen remarkable development in Uganda, and it is vital that we continue to support his leadership and other NRM candidates to ensure sustained growth," he stated.

He also advised voters in Karamoja to elect capable leaders within the NRM who will work collaboratively with the government to develop the region and improve residents’ livelihoods.

Supporters expressed confidence in the NRM’s vision and pledged to mobilize more residents to participate actively in the electoral process. Hon. Longole’s message serves as a platform to educate the public on the party’s policies and achievements, aiming to galvanize voter turnout in favor of NRM candidates.

Looking ahead to the upcoming electoral cycle, NRM leadership remains optimistic about securing victory across Uganda, with Napak District playing a vital role in the party’s national strategy.

Additionally, Hon. Mark Longole, the current Chair of Napak District, participated in the recent NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) elections. He stepped down from the race following a request from Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who also serves as the NRM Chair, to allow for leadership renewal and unity within the party.
