A new dawn for the Employees in Northern Uganda as a dedicated Servant Kenneth is Nominated for NRM Workers League Vice Chairperson.

For decades, the workers in the Northern region of Uganda have complained of poor representation in the National Political Space due to inconsistency by those entrusted to represent them.

The challenges ranged from insecurity, lack of wage bills, the degrading treatment of employees by the employers among others.

In a significant stride to change the story, Kenneth Ogwal, a dedicated leader with a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those in the employment industry, has come out, seeking elections as the Regional Vice Chairperson of the Workers League of the National Resistance Movement in 2025-2030.

Ogwal who hails from Amolatar district is currently working in Kalaki district, where he has served for years with a stand out track record. He was duly nominated by the NRM Electoral Commission at Kamapla on Wednesday 2/7/2025.

If elected, Ogwal promises he will legislate on the issues of welfare of the workers ensuring they are well paid with the job guaranteed works security.

He also promised to always convene meetings with the workers and organize workshops to educate the workers their rights and lobby for better job opportunities as well as promotions for those already in the labor world.

Under Workers' Rights and Protections, Ogwal intends to Advocate for comprehensive labor laws that ensure fair wages, safe working conditions, and the right to unionize.

He also Committed to fighting against exploitation in all forms, including wage theft and unfair dismissals.

As a candidate with a deeper understanding of the situation in the region, Ogwal promises to ensure *Living Wage for All*, through Promoting policies that establish a living wage, ensuring that every worker earns enough to meet their basic needs.

He also intends to support initiatives for wage transparency to combat pay disparities and discrimination.

Job Security and Employment Opportunities.

   Under this; Ogwal promises to push for legislation that protects against unjust layoffs and promotes job security.

   He said he will also encourage programs that create sustainable employment opportunities in various sectors, particularly for marginalized communities.

Ensure Access to Healthcare and Benefits by the Workers:

 He promised to advocate for universal healthcare access for all workers and their families.

Besides that; Ogwang said he will ensure benefits such as paid sick leave, parental leave, and retirement security are available to all workers.

Promote Education and Skill Development:

   -Under this, Candidate Ogwal promises to advocate for affordable education and vocational training programs that equip workers with necessary skills for the future and encourage lifelong learning initiatives to help workers adapt to changing job markets.

He also wants to promote diversity and inclusion within the workplace and the union and Champion policies that address systemic inequalities and promote equitable treatment for all workers.

As part of his manifesto,Ogwal Kenneth intends to foster strong relationships between the Workers' League and local communities to ensure that workers' voices are heard and encourage grassroots movements to mobilize and support workers' rights at all levels.
