NRM Cadre Ongodia Leads In Mobilization For Museveni As Organized Football Tournament In Ngora District

NGORA DISTRICT – A lively and well-attended football tournament organized by Ronald Kedi Ongodia, took place over the weekend at Koile Primary School in Atoot Parish, Kobwin County, Ngora District. The event drew thousands of youth from the region and was part of ongoing efforts to mobilize support for President Yoweri Museveni and all National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidates ahead of the upcoming elections.

The tournament served as more than just a sporting competition; it was a strategic platform aimed at fostering peace, unity, and reflecting on the developmental achievements under the NRM government in the Teso Sub-region and Ngora District. Community members shared stories of progress, especially highlighting developments since 2025, including improved road infrastructure, expanded educational opportunities, and increased government appointments of Teso sons and daughters.

Participants expressed their commitment to remaining loyal to the NRM and pledged to join forces in promoting messages of wealth creation, peace, and safeguarding the gains made over the years.

In an exclusive interview, Ronald Kedi Ongodia, a prominent supporter and mobilizer of President Museveni in Eastern Uganda, praised the youth of Teso sub-region for their unwavering support and resilience in ignoring opposition influence. Ongodia, himself a son of the revolutionary figure Late Ongodia, highlighted the tangible gains achieved in the region through NRM-led initiatives.

He stated, “This event was organized to foster peace and strengthen unity among our people. Sports have the power to bring us together, and through such gatherings, we can collectively celebrate the strides made under the NRM government.”

Ongodia also took the opportunity to rally the youth behind the NRM, urging them to resist opposition tactics and instead focus their energy on supporting President Museveni and the ruling party. “The future of our country rests in the hands of our young people. I encourage you to remain steadfast in your support for the NRM, which has consistently worked towards peace, stability, and national development,” he emphasized.

The tournament concluded with Ongodia awarding the winning team a trophy and a cash prize, marking a historic first of its kind in Ngora and Atoot Parish. He underscored that this event signifies a new chapter in community engagement and youth mobilization through sports, which can serve as a catalyst for sustained political support and social cohesion.

Local participants and community leaders appreciated the initiative, noting that such events provide a positive outlet for young people, promote community bonds, and serve as a platform for political education and mobilization.

Looking ahead, the organizers have announced plans to make this an annual event, with the goal of increasing youth participation and reinforcing NRM’s developmental agenda across Ngora and the wider Teso region.
