No Student Left Behind: Fountainhead Institute of Management and Technology, Lira Rolls Out Full Bursary Scheme for Deserving Students

Lira, Uganda —In a bold move to promote inclusive education and empower Uganda’s youth, the Fountainhead Institute of Management and Technology (FIMAT)in Lira has officially launched a comprehensive full bursary scheme under the banner “No Student Left Behind.” This transformative initiative aims to eliminate financial obstacles that prevent academically talented students from pursuing quality higher education.

The scheme is designed to support deserving students from across the region, providing full financial coverage for tuition, accommodation, learning materials, and other academic necessities.

Speaking during the official unveiling of the program, the Institute’s Director, **Mr. Tom Okao, emphasized FIMAT’s commitment to educational empowerment and community development:

“Our goal is to ensure that every deserving student, regardless of their financial background, has the opportunity to pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to society. This bursary program is our way of giving back and creating a lasting impact.”

The bursary targets students who exhibit academic excellence, leadership potential, and genuine financial need. According to Mr. Okao, the program has already begun to bear fruit.

“In the last academic year alone, several students benefited from this initiative. As of now, we have awarded bursaries to over 500 students,” he added.

The announcement has been met with widespread praise from students, parents, and community leaders. Mr. George Odongo, a parent from Lira, expressed gratitude:

“This bursary gives us hope. It means our children can now access quality education without the burden of financial constraints. It’s a life-changing opportunity for many families.”

The “No Student Left Behind” program aligns with Uganda’s broader national education strategies aimed at increasing equitable access to education, reducing poverty, and building a skilled, knowledgeable workforce for the future.

FIMAT plans to regularly monitor and evaluate the impact of the scheme and is exploring opportunities to expand the program in future academic years.

WHO CAN APPLY 

Uganda’s students who have UCE Certificates or its equivalent can apply for national Certificate under August intake runing up to 22 September, 2025.

Uganda’s students holding UACE Certificate or its equivalent are also eligible to apply for national Certificate under the ongoing intake ending in September, 22.
