His boss Geoffrey Okiswa was equally impressed with the number of students who turned up for this patriotism training and lauded his assistant Jimmy Okello for buttressing and deepening the vision of the National Resistance Movement party under the leadership of president Yoweri Museveni in instilling values and morals in young people through Patriotism training.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni last year appointed Jimmy Okello , a dedicated and loyal carder of the NRM to serve as assistant RDC in Alebtong. He was then given the mandate to not only oversee Ajuri constituency but he is also incharge of promoting Patriotism.

Speaking to the Luo Native's diplomatic and political Eilditor Frank Oyugi,Okello said patriotism training helps in shaping the minds of young citizens. He encouraged the students to apply the knowledge and values gained from the program to make a positive impact in their communities and contribute to the country's growth and development.

He further encouraged other schools in the district to participate in the subsequent trainings since this is an annual event across the country.

ARDC Okello is also optimistic that this training will help to mitigate strikes in schools in Alebtong arguing that the students are now more disciplined because of the training.

David Kennedy Odongo ,the Alebtong district LCav chairperson meanwhile appealed to parents to stop blaming the young generation whenever they go stray but to guide them adding that Patriotism training is among programs that instil values and morals in the lives of the young ones who are future political leaders, engineers and doctor to serve Uganda in years to come.

A total of 1054 students from the nine schools were passed out during the event held at Amugu SS playground where the RDC Geoffrey Okiiswa officiated as the chief guest.

The RDC unscored the benefits of patriotism in the lives of the young generation and encouraged schools to embrace it.

"Our values are pan-africanism,you were taught about it,socio- economic transformation -you were taught, and democracy but all those values are underpinned by patriotism, that is why in the listing patriotism is number one core value in the the NRM....." RDC Okiswa advised the students.

The students received training from UPD instructors based at the 5th Division brigade in Achol-pii and also the national secretariat of patriotism corps under state house.

The patriotism training program in Alebtong district aims to instill a sense of national pride, civic responsibility, and community service among young people. By empowering students with these values, the program seeks to foster a more engaged and responsible citizenry, ultimately contributing to the district's and the country's development.
