Karenga District (DRDC)Ronald Kedi Ongodia has commended the National Resistance Movement (NRM) for conducting a peaceful and orderly electoral process during the recent Local Council (LC) 5 Chairman race in Karenga.
In a statement issued yesterday, Commissioner Ongodia praised all stakeholders, including candidates, voters, security agencies, and electoral officials, for their commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring a smooth electoral process. The center highlighted that the peaceful conduct reflects the community’s dedication to democratic principles and stability in the region.
"Peaceful elections are fundamental to the development and progress of our communities. We applaud the NRM candidates and supporters for their disciplined approach throughout the campaign and voting process," said DRDC
The electoral process in Karenga was marked by high voter turnout and active civic participation, with no reports of violence or electoral malpractices in the recently concluded election for Local Chairman for district.
This success has been viewed as a positive step toward fostering unity and development within the district.
Local leaders and residents expressed hope that this peaceful trend continues in future elections, contributing to sustainable development and social cohesion in Karenga.
DRDC further urged all political actors to uphold the spirit of democracy and work together for the betterment of the community.
He also the electoral disputes case for the NRM parliamentary race is currently being handled by NRM Secretariat.
