Kabale Regional Refferal Hospital Board and top management Benchmarks at Lira Regional Refferal Hospital, commend best practices
Following the benchmarking visit, Dr Muhende urged the team to go and implement the things they have learnt from Lira Regional Refferal Hospital which they will call it "Lira Declaration", emphasizing the need to start small just like Lira is doing and allowing to learn quickly from the mistakes and move forward.

A delegation from Kabale Regional Refferal Hospital (@KabaleReferral ) comprising of board members and top Management led by the Chairperson board, Dr Ananaria Muhunde and Hospital Director Dr Filbert Nyeko on Wednesday 11th February 2026, visited Lira Regional Refferal Hospital to benchmark and share collegial experiences on the health service delivery.
The benchmarking tour covered the following areas; Quality of clinical care, infrastructural development, hospital land management, functionalization of private wing, and research for decision making.
During the visit, LRRH top management led by Hospital Director Dr Andrew Odur highlited to the visiting team, the strides the hospital has made progressively in ensuring that the citizenry get high quality medical care.
Dr Odur says that the Hospital Management LRRH was impressed by the trust and confidence that other institutions have in the Hospital, adding that this has challenged the team to reflect even the more.
"We take the benchmarking very seriously, it gives us alot of reflection, adding that the time one starts to do something good, is a big challenge for more work", remarked Odur during the visit.
He says the visit has given the LRRH team more energy and encouragement to deliver more for the people of Lango.
Lira Regional Hospital Principal Hospital Administrator Peter Okello Odeke in his address said that the hospital management was grateful for the decision that Kabale RRH took to visit LRRH bringing cross pollination of ideas and bonding between the two Hospitals.
Dr Anania Muhunde, the Chairperson board of Kabaale Regional Refferal Hospital revealed that they chose to visit Lira Hospital because they were impressed by how the hospital is fast growing and improving the quality of services being offered to the populace.
"We must accept that we have learnt alot from Lira Regional Refferal Hospital and success is clear result of clear thinking" says Dr Muhende.
Kabaale Regional Refferal Hospital Director Dr Filbert Nyeko applauded LRRH for hosting them, adding that the visit was very impactful.

The new innovations which the Kabaale Regional Hospital team appreciated from LRRH are super specialized services like dialysis, Peadratic surgery, orderliness, cleanliness and good walk-ways. They were also amazed at how the management was able to attract external donors, motivate the staffs to work with minimal supervision and keep a clean hospital despite the huge number of patients.
