EDUCATION THAT CARES: Ebenezer School of Health Sciences Opens Its Gates to Train the Next Generation of Medical Professionals — Enroll Now! 

Lira, Uganda — A new beacon of hope has emerged for aspiring health workers in Northern Uganda. The Ebenezer School of Health Sciences, strategically located along the Lira–Dokolo–Soroti Highway, has officially opened its gates, marking a major milestone in efforts to strengthen the region’s healthcare system and address the nationwide shortage of trained medical professionals.

The institution will offer certificate programs in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Medical Laboratory Technology, and other allied health disciplines — all accredited in line with the Ministry of Education and Sports and the Uganda Allied Health Examinations Board (UAHEB) standards.

According to recent research, Northern Uganda continues to face persistent challenges in staffing medical facilities, especially in rural areas. 

Speaking during the launch, Mr. Patrick Okullo, the Institutional Administrator, emphasized that the school’s establishment marks “a new chapter in empowering young people with practical, life-saving skills.”

> “Our goal is to produce competent, compassionate, and community-oriented health workers who will transform lives and uplift healthcare standards across Uganda,” said Mr. Okulu.

The school boasts .state-of-the-art training laboratories, modern simulation rooms , and .strong partnerships with regional hospitals and health centers , ensuring that students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical clinical experience.

Local leaders and community representatives have warmly welcomed the development, describing it as both *timely and transformative*. They noted that beyond improving healthcare delivery, the institution will also expand educational and employment opportunities for the youth in Lira and neighboring districts.

The first cohort of pioneering students has already commenced their studies at the school’s modern campus, while admissions remain open for new applicants.
