Kampala, Uganda – July 18, 2025
In a spirited move at the NRM Electoral Commission on 17th June 2025, Abudul George was officially nominated as the National Resistance Movement (NRM) for the Erute South parliamentary seat. Flanked by supporters and party officials, including NRM Secretary General Tanga Odoi, Abudul boldly pledged to champion transformative leadership, vowing to elevate Erute South from years of stagnation.
"I Fear No Contestant"
Addressing the media after his nomination, Abudul exuded confidence, stating, "I am not afraid of whoever steps forward to challenge me in the NRM primaries.
Abudul's nomination was proposed by Ogwang Tonny chairperson NRM Amach subcounty.
He was seconded by ONC coordinate Lira District TONNY Alfred Okello and further supported by Ms Grace Vice Chairperson Women League Barr subcounty.
My focus is on the people of Erute South—their needs, their frustrations, and their future.
" His remarks underscored a determination to break the cycle of unfulfilled promises in the constituency, where one voter Grace lament, "We keep electing leaders, but their impact is invisible."
Abudul’s campaign hinges on accountability and service delivery. He criticized past leaders for failing to leverage government programs and partnerships, promising instead to "work with grassroots organizations, development platforms, and the NRM agenda to bring roads, schools, and healthcare closer to our people.
" His vision aligns with broader NRM goals, but he stressed a "localized approach" to address Erute’s unique challenges.
Tonny Alfred Okello the ONC Coordinate Lira District, told reporters, "We’ve heard these pledges before. What we need now is action." Analysts note that Abudul’s success hinges on convincing a weary electorate that he can translate NRM policies into tangible change.
Abudul George will face competition from other candidates, including Engola Sam also double as presidential advisor on Lango Affairs, among others, in the NRM party primaries scheduled for July 16, 2025
Abudul faces potential intra-party rivals, but his early momentum and direct appeals to Erute’s grievances position him as a formidable contender.
As campaigns intensify, all eyes will be on whether his "no fear" confidence translates into a mandate for transformation.
Yesterday Hon. Sam Engola was also as well nominated by NRM electoral commission.
