East Kyoga Police RTO Mathias Okwir Celebrates 34th anniversary of His Good Service In The Force

Soroti City, Uganda : Regional Police Traffic Officer for the East Kyoga Region, SP Mathias Okwir, has celebrated his 34th anniversary with the Uganda Police Force on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. 

In a media statement on Tuesday evening, the committed and loyal officer reflected on his long career, attributing that today marks a significant milestone in his service. He credited his enduring tenure to his dedication, determination, discipline, and love for his country. 

Having worked in various locations like Kampala including the Lango sub-region before his transfer to Teso subregion where is currently in, SP Okwir encouraged new officers to engage with the community while observing the laws of the nation. He expressed his success, stating that being in police force is for those who are truly patriotic and have a vision for the country's development. 

His loyalty and dedication have earned him respect in every community he has served.

While in Lango sub region SP Okwir trained drivers in Lango under the association of Lira Transporters and drivers association with traffic rules and regulations, helping them to acquire permit.

The senor officer also commended NRM government for enforcing Proffesionalism in forces that has made it easy for anyone to join and serve the nation.

He also improved on the traffic flow in Lira city and built good relationship between Bodaboda, drivers and business community with business community. 

SP Okwir was also praised by the community for being a down to earth senior police officer while in Lango. 

During his handover ceremony in Lango sub-region last year, the Assistant Resident City Commissioner of Lira Bonny F. Okello Alele praised for being best police officer serving the country with humility.
