Acholi Greatest Woman Lillian Abalo Ongom Wants To Take Over Agago LC 5 Seat In 2026 Election

Agago, UGANDA: In addressing the gap of transparency accountability and socio- economic transformation,in Agago district ,the National Vice Chairperson Northern Uganda women league hon Abalo Lillian Ongom has declared her intention to contest for LCV chairperson under NRM party ticket come 2026 general elections.
Addressing the press on Thursday afternoon from Patongo town council,Agago county ,Agago district,
Abalo who is an NRM mobilizer ,senior Presidential advisor,CEC member of the NRM mighty party said she is ready to tussle with other politicians for the post.
With her leadership background, the Veteran politician believes that she is in position to address the pressing needs of Agago people through lobbying and networking.
“I want to address the issue of poor road networks, education and healthcare services and I will address them through collaboration with government, stakeholders and non government organisations”. She stated.
About the Politician Lillian Abalo Ongom
She was the Camp commandant of the then greater Patongo sub county during the LRA insurgency when people were in the internally displaced persons Camp (IDP).
Abalo served as the district councilor representing the people of Patongo in the then greater Kitgum before Pader and Agago district were created from it.
Abalo is a strong NRM mobilizer who for long has given political headaches to the opposition in the Acholi sub region.
She is among the very few individuals who preached the gospel of NRM ideology and principles to the people of Northen Uganda in the early 90s and early 2000s.
Mego Abalo also contested in recent years for the position of Agago woman MP but this time round she is more than ready to tussle with men.
Dorcus Adong, a resident, told this publication that her and the family members are seeing quality in Abalo.
She added that people of Agago district need peace, unity,decentralization of services,transparency in recruitment processes during jobs offering and an end to the Karamojong cattle rustling.
Her agenda
Commercial and modern Agriculture where farmers can benefit and testify of the services they always benefit from especially the one that has been offered to them.
Making sure all government programs such as PDM ,UWEP, YLP, the Emyooga,Grow project among others are the real beneficiaries.
Meanwhile in the sector of education,she said " The level of PLE, UCE and UACE performance has totally declined in Agago district compared to other districts. She pledged to improve it.
Abalo whose manifesto aligns with the NRM manifesto of promoting girl child education,equal distribution of resources from the district to the sub counties and town councils,parishes and villages/ cells without any segregation of religion,tribe or locality is enjoying community support.
A 74 -year -old woman in Pece parish, Patongo Town council,Agago county, told newspaper on condition of anonymity that now is the time to implement gender equality and it is on record that Lillian Abalo Ongom is tested and trusted,hence she is the only perfect person whom they are endorsing to be the LCV chairperson Agago district because she is jolly, social and exposed enough to perform the duty.
Adong Dorcas, a 33 -year -old -woman of Bulutwomo Parish in Lira Palwo town council stated that ,the only person who can lead Agago district correctly is Abalo Lillian because as voters they have known her for long as a hard working fellow although some political mafias are fighting her for nothing.
Atto Jane of Nimaro parish,Kalongo town council stated that this time round they want Lillian to lead the people of Agago for five years because they are no longer voting for some of the current leaders since they have forgotten about the problem of the people of Lapono,Adilang , Kalongo,Parabongo ,Wol and Paimol Sub- county among other areas to mention but a few.
A 60-year-old voter of Lira Kato sub- county vowed to vote for Lillian come rain or sunshine because it is only Lillian who can talk to H.E Gen.Yoweri Museveni Kaguta very well when it comes to the issue of border insecurity caused by some Jie cattle rustlers.
She will be aspiring among other men such as Ateng Wilfred Okello of Parabongo,Otto Wilson of Arum sub-county ,Leonard Opio Ojok the serving Agago LCV district chairman among other aspirants.
