EBENEZER UNIVERSITY, LIRA EXTENDS ADMISSIONS FOLLOWING GOVERNMENT DIRECTIVE ON SCHOOL REOPENING 

Lira, Uganda – January , 2026 – In response to the government's recent directive to postpone the school reopening date to 10th February 2026, Ebenezer University, Lira, has officially extended its admissions deadline for the January 2026 intake.

The leading private university in Northern Uganda made this decision to ensure prospective students have ample opportunity to enroll and benefit from the ongoing academic year 2026/2027.

Mr. Richard Okullu, the University Executive Director, confirmed the extension in a statement to the media. "Our priority is to align with national guidelines while ensuring no student misses the chance to advance their education this academic year. This extension allows us to accommodate those adjusting their plans due to the revised calendar," Okullu stated.

The university, which operates two campuses in Lira City, is offering a range of certificate and diploma programmes across its schools.

Admissions are now open for the following programmes: 

At the School of Health Sciences Campus (Along Soroti Road): 

* Certificate in Nursing

* Certificate in Midwifery

* Certificate in Pharmacy

At the Main Campus (Amuca, Lira City):

* National Certificate in Public Administration

* National Certificate in Agriculture

* National Certificate in Business Administration and Management

* (Additional Diploma programmes are also available for enquiry)
